about
"Wander" was written during a very transitional point in our lives. while the primary motif of the song came about relatively easily, it took us over 3 years to figure out how the rest of the song should sound, as well as what the lyrics should concern. For the latter, our vocalist dwelled upon all of the frustration that he had been experiencing with his vocation at the time, and distilled it into the honest and desperate lyrics that would become one of the main driving forces behind this song.
lyrics
I should have known I can’t hide the pain
It’s unavoidable, what a shame
Confused and scared, where do we go from here?
My sense of self rapidly collapses
No longer grounded time elapses
It’s uncontrollable
But did I ever have a say?
Smothering, I'm smothering
I don't know what to do
I'm losing my grip
Knowing I’ve lived a lie
Knowing I’ve lived a lie
To see
Is to fear
Troubled eyes
Wander through thoughts
It unwinds
Now it's clear
I was never meant to be here
Who is this which stands before me now?
An image of a man who once was
It ripples, waves now violent, they disrupt,
It echoes a sentiment long lost
Who are you?
Who are you?
Have you found out yet?
Will the answer ever satisfy?
So now I'm left out, roaming through here
Not a single fibril, a single shred of hope
So empty, this space I've learned to fear
The silence becomes deafening
Smothering, I'm smothering
I don't know what to do
I'm losing my grip
Knowing I’ve lived a lie
Knowing I’ve lived a lie
To see
Is to fear
Troubled eyes
Wander through thoughts
It unwinds
Now it's clear
I was never meant to be here
